The River Idle
River Idle at Misterton

Use Sat Nav DN10 4AZ
This stretch had not been fished for some years before we took it on and is totally unspoiled and has natural overgrown banks. Expect to do some clearing to get yourself comfy. I saw many fish topping when I went to view it & some were a decent size so tackle up for some big Bream, Chub, etc. Our Members have had good size Carp out too, so be prepared for good fights.

From Scunthorpe take A18 to Crowle Junction, turn Left onto A161 continue towards Epworth, then Haxey and Graiselound until you reach Misterton. Once in the village look for the Church and turn right before it onto Church Street, you will see Red Hart pub on right; the road bears left then right. (you will see a red box on a post) Then turn right into Carr Lane this will in 200 yards lead to Cornley Road on the right, not much more than a single farm track with potholes!
Continue up here for 2 miles. You will enter a wooded farm complex. Drive past the 2 houses set back on your left and follow the track just past the farm buildings as it turns right onwards to flood bank. Please leave the gate as found. There is plenty of parking space over the flood bank so please park sensibly not to block access for any farm vehicles.

New for 2012

IDLE AT LOUND * SAT NAV DN22 8QR
From 16th June the Pisces club have secured a great stretch of the Idle at Lound.
Directions from Scunthorpe via Gainsborough go over Trent bridge and follow road via Gringley towards Bawtry (A631) take the turn towards Mattersey and follow signs for LOUND (not Sutton Cum Lound) Once in Lound take CHAINBRIDGE LANE follow it down to bridge over Idle. Go over bridge and turn immediately left and drive along the river bank top past the Derby Angling signs (about one mile) the Pisces stretch starts after last Derby sign for about 1.25 miles and ends when you reach fence across the bank. There is a foot bridge over the river about half way along our stretch. We only have fishing rights on bank you are driving on. Please park so others can pass. You can fish into the dark should you wish. If you are coming from the Bawtry direction then take road to Gringley/ Gainsborough (A631at traffic lights) follow road and turn off to Mattersey as above.
